there are so many.... i remember my exfather inlaw...ben regan, he was made an elder in newport r.i and that's enough to make you doubt the whole holy spirit thing right there.. i was sitting in his living room one sunday and the phone rings...some poor black sister just got the crap beat out of her and she was crying to him on the phone, she was looking for help.. ben said.

"well you must have done something really bad to make him so mad at you...i know but...what you need to do is just have another beer and forget the whole thing"....good by.. thank god must women are not putting up with this anymore, from their husbands or religions that really don't care about them.

What was your first Religious Experience ?

just wondered how others first learned about religion.

i know "born ins" were taught from the start but the rest of us had to start somewhere.

my very first memory of anything supposedly religious was at the age of six... my grandmother took me to a "tent revival".

i couldn't even get into a fight at school without getting into trouble.. yet my god...jehovah was is a jealous god an angry god....a god who when he got missed off would destroy a whole planet...remember the flood....(the bible said he felt bad afterwards)...that was nice.. now he is getting ready to do it again....6 billion people worth....and why?.

Hitler was a mad man because he killed off only 50 million people because they didn't beleive in him. Whats the difference between him and your "God of love?"....The people will be just as dead!

what got me thinking, -------when i was seating at a district ass.

and looking at the audiences of 10,000 people seating there, i thought if all these people here were to represent all the earths population, only ten people on the front row would be saved.. since the population of the planet is 6 billion "worldly people" and 6 million jws, that means those poor bastards in the world only have one in 1,000 chance to live!

but i was "lucky" enough to be born into a jws family {and maybe 75%?

i wanted to write this thread after reading pec's profile...wow!!!.

he was raised in a family were the men were cursed....if you had a penis you were in trouble.. that was true in my family too, my mother was sexually abused as a child...she hated men all men...so me and my father had no hope...being males.. in my exwife families the men were the chosen ones..the women were worthless.. what sex was favored in your family?

I Missed Memorial - First time in 30 years! Thanks to you!

last year i turned up to make everyone happy.......but this year i just could'nt force myself to go.

some witnesses called on the day to "encourage" us to go....my mum called to make sure i go.....but i just couldn't put my tie on!

after being on this site for awhile i feel like i have moved on.

I agree with you I have a different Idea about Karma too. I believe there is "NO have to go back" kind of thing to make things right...Since everything on the other side is love....we choose to come back, no one is making us.

i know we have some very imaginative people, so let's pretend we are "god".

we see how much of an economic crisis we are in, how politics is making people fight from all sides, so many religions and they are all fighting against each other, in fact, every difference can be a breaking point for division.

create a world that is functional, realistic and economically sound.. it can be as short or long as you want, but i think it would be a good place to come up with some ideas and possibly create a reality that even in our own lives, can make a difference..

I think this is an important issue...

Because of the JWs thinking...that women are less then a men.

The "brothers" encouraged my exwife to leave me because I wasn't a "spiritual head"....

Since women are so weak minded, that if the don't have someone over them that is "strong spiritualy" then they are screwed.

It seems to be a religion that attracts weak or broken women....The whole "the head of the woman is the man" thing.
